My love for photography started when I was small. At summer camp when I was about 8, a counselor handed me a film camera and sent me off to photograph something that made me feel joy. I immediately loved looking at the world in this new way and catching moments and holding them still. After graduating from Colgate University, I started my career in corporate meeting and events management, but deep down I always had this pull to make my photography more a daily presence. After the birth of my first daughter (and my passion for capturing her every waking - and sleeping! - moment) I decided to make a career change. Celebrating over 12 years in business this year, I am immensely grateful to all of my clients for entrusting me with their special moments. I am also a wife to my best friend, mother to two amazing girls and one sweet little man.

As a Washington DC photographer, I am drawn to the look of film photography, of watercolor paintings, to pastel sunsets and colors, and to delicate and soft textures. I love golden hour light and watching how it can change everything around it as it moves in and out, and from season to season. I am an extrovert, but in contrast enjoy relaxed quiet moments as well. I love people and learning about people. I love seeing joy, love, emotion, connections, all of it. I love little details, learning about your kids personalities, your family story, and creating images and beautiful heirlooms and art that remind you of treasured moments of time.

Enjoyed an epic ski and super bowl weekend with good friends this weekend and it’s back in the office today. The best weekends always go far too quickly!
And I am the only one who feels the Super Bowl hangover/tiredness even more on the Tuesday after vs the Monday? Just found out my kids have a two hour school “snow” delay 🤔☔️ but at least it means I have a slower roll out this morning.
You will find me curled up today editing two sweet newborn sessions and resting my VERY sore ski legs.
