Those blissful first few weeks with your new baby are so fleeting and before you can blink their little features are changing and growing. These precious new baby moments are so special to look back on as they grow. But, I know, after my own 3 kids, how busy and how tiring it can all feel with little ones trying to even get out of the house to get portraits done.
Lifestyle newborn sessions are a lovely and relaxing way to document this beautiful time in a space with so much meaning to your family. And you don't even need to leave the house. We can arrange make-up and hair to come to you and you can select wardrobe pieces for yourself from my client wardrobe and I will bring wraps and hats or hair ties for baby so you don't have to shop and you can focus this time where it needs to be - on your sweet new baby.

My aim with every one of my Maryland newborn photography sessions is to make the process of getting your portraits done and heirloom art into your home low stress and relaxed. I will find the spaces in your home with the best light and where you and your baby are the most at ease. I usually photograph in the primary bedroom and nursery or anywhere where there is lovely soft natural light. Lifestyle newborn sessions are typically done within the first 6 weeks after baby's birth or in the first 8-14 days after baby's born if you want to capture that extra dreamy and sleepy time for your baby.

BABY's FiRST YEAR MEMBERSHIPS
$700
Baby's first year memberships are a client favorite and perfect for moms (and dads) who want to document all of your babies first milestones in their first year. You have the choice of 3 different sessions in baby's first year (maternity is an option as well), and include all the same items as a single session for each session. There is the option to add additional sessions if you wish. First year memberships also include a $50 print credit to be used in the gallery store after each of your sessions.

CAN YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY STYLE?
I like to describe my style and imagery as light, airy, and emotive, inspired by the look of film; the images classic and timeless. I specialize in the early years and enjoy capturing your family joy, and the little details and the special moments in your family and children’s lives in natural surroundings or your home environment. In my sessions, I do a mix of lifestyle and semi-posed, but I LOVE looking for and creating moments that are genuine and candid so I always do my best to make each session relaxing and fun.

How Soon should I reach out to BOOK a Newborn Session?
For most newborn sessions, I recommend calling as soon as you start your second trimester. Though I sometimes have clients call me to book even before they have told their family so never too early to get on my calendar! I know it feels early, but I only schedule a few newborn sessions a month so I can leave flexibility in my calendar for delivery dates and so I can maintain a high level of quality and attention to detail in your images.
WHAT IS THE BEST TIME OF DAY FOR MY SESSION?
Lifestyle newborn sessions are generally done in your home. I prefer photographing photographing newborns in-home so sessions are relaxed and comfortable for you and your baby and its lovely to photograph your new little one in a space with so much meaning. For in-home we will find a space that offers soft window light or a porch that has beautiful diffused light. Start times for lifestyle newborn sessions is usually around 10/10:30AM, depending on the light in your home.
HOW LONG WILL MY SESSION LAST?
Newborn Sessions typically last about 2 hours long, with breaks as needed for feeding, changing, etc. Modeling is hard work. ;)
WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY GALLERY?
Your watermarked proof gallery of images will be available within 3 weeks after your session. Once you have have opened your gallery you have 7 days to make any digital or product purchases.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?! HOW DO I PREPARE?
After your session is confirmed, I will provide you with a questionnaire so I can learn a bit more about you, your kids and their personalities and interests as well gather more info about your vision and style preferences. I will also provide you log-in access to my client website which has the link to my detailed info guide with tips on what to wear, what to expect and how to prepare. For newborn sessions I provide wraps, hats and hair ties for baby and will bring them with me to your session. Also, I have many dresses in my client wardrobe available to borrow for sessions for moms (and mamas-to-be) that I know will photograph beautifully. Please inquire for more information.
Do you offer a DiSCOUNT for Multiple Sessions?
Yes! There is nothing better than when a family chooses me to document their milestones as their family grows. I appreciate the loyalty as well. Special pricing sitting fee pricing is available when 3 or more sessions in your babies first year are booked. This is a client favorite for documenting maternity, newborn, 3/6/9 month and/or 1 year milestones.
When do we schedule A NEWborn Date?
Ideally Lifestyle newborn portraits are scheduled any time within the first 6 weeks. For those dreamy sleeping newborn photos I recommend scheduling a day within 14 days of birth. We will use 10 days from your due date as a holder since newborns have their own timeline for arrival. I leave flexibility in my calendar for these types of sessions and we will touch base as soon as you deliver to finalize our session date.
Will YOU TraVEL outside of DC?
Absolutely! I love exploring new places and checking out new destinations. Sessions taking place within 25 miles of zip code 20015 are no additional cost. Sessions outside of 25 miles from downtown Washington DC are an additional $1 per mile each way. Please reach out for special pricing for sessions that are more than 60 miles, incur flights or larger travel expenses.
WHY SHOULD WE INVEST IN HEIRLOOM ARTWORK?
Investing in heirloom framed art and heirloom albums is such a beautiful way to archive your family story in this moment in time and so these moments can be passed down to future generations. Unlike the fancy cars, and the high end sofas and furniture we purchase for our homes that will only continue to depreciate in value over time, heirloom framed artwork and albums that we create will only continue to increase in value and will become even more special to you as you and your children get older. As a mom of 3, whose kids are no longer babies, I truly understand this now. Let's archive these special moments for your family so you can always look back on this special time and so you can share them with your family for many many generations to come.
CAN I JUST GET THE DIGITALS?
While I always encourage my clients to invest in heirloom artwork that can be displayed on your walls and in albums in your home as well, instead of just your computer, I know that some clients prefer to have digitals. Digitals are available for purchase in different groupings in the store. Please inquire for my complete price list.

Yes, please let me help! I love assisting my clients with creating archival artwork for their homes.
