As a family photographer in Washington, DC, I know there are so many beautiful, historic locations to choose from for your family portrait session. It can be tough to choose just one! This particular garden is one of my absolute favorites. The trick is finding a time when its not too busy!
I met this family on a quiet Fall morning and it was so incredibly peaceful with the most gorgeous sunlight. This location has such a lovely blend of historic architecture and European-style greenery. Although the weather was a bit chilly, it was the perfect excuse to cuddle up in the gazebo by the end of the session!
This family was such a dream to work with- Mom and Dad were so wonderful with their kids. It makes such a big difference in the final images when parents are able to soak up these memories with their children. Even though it was cold, they embraced the time we spent together by being present with their sweet girls.
Documenting the In-Between Moments | Washington DC Family Photographer
As a Mom myself, I try to document the moments that I would want if it were my family being photographed. I think this is why the in-between moments feel so special and sacred! It was really important to me to document the sibling bond between these two girls. You could tell they just adored each other!
Portraits with Mom are also always a priority in my sessions. I know so often we as Moms are the picture takers. The photos of Mom and her girls cuddling in the gazebo were some of my very favorite from the session. It is my hope that every Mom I photograph has an image like that with their children- one you can frame and adore on your walls for years to come!
